As I wanted to install Asterisk on a CentOS Server and I did not need all the stuff a Default Server installation comes with, I made this installation of a CentOS server, only with the basic packages, so I can later install only the packages I may need.

This also applies for an Apache, or xSQL installation, I made some shots of the packages selection screens so you can use them to install your CentOS base system.

First go through all the screens selecting your language, keyboard, time zone, etc. these are two of those screens.

Then select the best partition for your on your disk.

Now, when you arrive to the packages selection, first choose server, and I also selected the Extras repo, as you may need it in the future.

Then on the next screen go to server, and de-select all you may not need, in my case it was everything.

Go to the "Base System" tab and de-select dial-up support unless you need it.

Once you finish the installation, you will see this screen where you can change some of the configuration, this is useful if you want to have SELinux disabled, or you want to create your own firewall.
