Vixta Linux - Looks like Vista but is Linux

StumbleUpon Toolbar

Every day are appearing more and more ways to convert people from Windows to Linux, if this should be our goal as Linux users or not, is another discussion, but on its way to make Linux more and more user Friendly for those Windows users it comes Vixta.

Vixta is a project with this in mind.

  • Absolutly free, in every sense
  • Spread linux to the "masses".
  • ABN - Absolutly No Config
  • User-Frendly.
  • Eye-catching.
  • Familiar look and Feel

Vixta is based on Fedora, so for sure it will have stability, hardware support and lots of applications.

If you want to give it a try you need to download its .iso image, from the Vixta Site

Hey, this is a nice idea,

Hey, this is a nice idea, but i have two points

1) Vixta, i hate this style in naming projects, i mean twisting other famous name.

2) "Vixta is based on Fedora, so for sure it will have stability, hardware support and lots of applications."
I agree to this phrase, except for the stability issue, Fedora is a testing envirnoment in which redhat tests new features before it is put into its redhat enterprise.

You should be right about

You should be right about the stability, but as far as I have used Fedora, for my Desktop or even for my Server (FC4 for two years) I had no problem, but it is not stable by definition at least not as Debian or CentOS.
